Ploughman’sWe meet in our church hall every other Friday at 12.15pm. Why not join us if you're free? There is warm fellowship, laughter and an enjoyable meal. We charge £3.50 and all profits go to church funds. Last year the church benefitted to the tune of £1,200. It is a good opportunity to bring along friends, neighbours and acquaintances. We also try to arrange transport if this is required.
Lime Walk Players
The Lime Walk Players have been playing and working together for 31 years, and have consistently put on shows of a high standard. We are particularly strong in our musical content as well as having a team of good actors, putting on a Radio Play, a Christmas Concert and a big Spring musical production every year. Past productions have included Wizard of Oz, Oliver, Annie, Peter Pan among many others both popular and less well-known. We have a strong Junior section with the youngsters taking part mainly in the Spring Production. In our latest show, Snow White, we had 15 from the age of 9 to 17 years taking part as forest animals, young courtiers and dwarfs! We will be holding our Annual General Meeting shortly to finalise our 2018/19 programme, and as always will be looking to recruit new members for the next year. If you think you would like to tread the boards with the Lime Walk Players, or take part in any other way (backstage, lighting, sound etc), please contact our Secretary, Mary Ross, on 01865 241148 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Bring and ShareWe meet once a month in one of our homes. During the first 30 minutes we sing hymns and songs. Everyone gets the opportunity to choose a favourite. This is followed by a sumptuous meal (bring and share). We then enjoy a few selected readings, serious or humorous, and end with a short time of prayer. There is also plenty of opportunity to get to know each other better. Transport is always arranged.
Lime Walk ChoirOur choir contributes to our morning worship at least once a month, sometimes more frequently when there is a special occasion, using simple but effective pieces of music to fit in with the theme of the service. We meet every Friday evening from 6.30-8pm for choir practice, which is usually fun without detracting from the important business of the evening!
Junior ChurchOur Junior Church meets every Sunday morning. We begin our morning with the adult congregation and leave for our own sessions after the second hymn. We have 14 children/ young people between ages 5 – 16 on our register, numbers vary from week to week. Our children are divided into two age groups and share a wide selection of activities which we often enjoy sharing with the adults (songs, craft work etc). Our material is taken from ROOTS, a worship and learning publication for the whole church. We are delighted to welcome new children to join this close-knit and happy group.
Tuesday Morning FellowshipThis group meets fortnightly on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for Bible study and Fellowship at the home of one of our church members. Our meeting starts with tea, coffee and chat and ends with a time of prayer.
Open DoorOpen Door meets fortnightly on a Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the homes of various church members. We meet for a cup of coffee, nibbles and a chat. There is no formal agenda, just friendship, and we discuss topics in the news, something happening in the Church, recent personal experiences, in fact generally anything and everything. We are happy to see folk whenever they feel like joining us. Twice a year, in the summer and at Christmas, we have a bring and share meal.
The door is open to anyone who cares to come, although we may have to start sitting on cushions on the floor if we run out of chairs!
